Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What kind of music are you looking for?
A: The short answer is “music that sounds like you’d hear on the radio.” While that doesn’t exactly narrow it down much, keep in mind that the mission of School of Fish is to use music as an outreach tool. If non-Christians wouldn’t tune in to it, it’s not going to work.
Q: How can I submit my demo?
A: Visit the Contact page for information
Please include bios of all members including photos.
Also, be sure to include the following:
- copyright information
- songwriting credits
- recording/engineering/production credits
- lyrics
- a short description regarding the type of equipment and/or facilities used to produce the demo.
Q: I am just a solo artist (or songwriter). Can I still submit my demo?
A: Absolutely!
Q: How is School of Fish different than a regular Christian record company?
A: The difference is in our focus. While all Christian record companies are interested in getting a great message out, their primary focus has to be on what some executive thinks is going to bring the big profits quickly. School of Fish is structured from the ground-up as a non-profit organization, so we are not concerned with record sales. Our only goal is impacting the Music Industry and ultimately the world for Christ.
Q: What can I do to help? How do I get involved?
A: Financial support is first right now. If you can donate, please do. If you cannot donate, please let your church know about us. If you are a great Christian band or solo artist, send us a demo. If you know of one, tell us about them. If you’re looking for financial assistance, let us know. If you have industry contacts that you’d like to set us up with, let us know.
